This two-week residential summer school programme will be held in New Delhi, India. The location will be the Vedica campus and residence in Qutab Institutional Area, New Delhi.
The world is full of capable and promising young women. And yet, the numbers tell a different story. In leadership positions across the world – be it in the corporate, political or the not-for-profit space – only 3 out of 100 women manage to break the proverbial ‘glass ceiling’.
The Vedica Scholars Programme for Women is committed to changing this historical narrative, and ensuring that women are perceived as assets to the global economy, contributing meaningfully to contemporary business, politics and society. We want every young woman with potential to be given the opportunity to be at the forefront of leading change. Vedica recognises the importance of diversity, and wants to leverage it for a better world.
The idea behind an all-women’s summer programme is to equip every young women with a deeper understanding of themselves, a nuanced understanding of the wider gender landscape as well as support it with a foundation in India’s rich history and heritage.
This programme is open to women enrolled in undergraduate programmes in India and abroad.
The candidates for the programme include residents of India, UK, Canada, USA, Nigeria, Australia. We welcome applications from residents of all countries.
You are eligible for the programme if you are enrolled in an undergraduate programme, in India or abroad. You may be a 1st year, 2nd year, 3rd year/final year student in order to be eligible.
No, only candidates enrolled in an undergraduate programme are eligible to apply for the programme.
Women enrolled in Undergraduate Programmes in India and abroad are eligible to apply. We are looking for Women who want to understand more about the diverse and complex gender narratives, are eager to explore their leadership capacities and are open to learning in a cross-cultural environment.
After successful completion of the programme, you will be awarded with a completion certificate from The Vedica Scholars Programme for Women, and our Leadership Alliance partners Carleton University, De Montfort University and JKL University .
Yes the programme cost covers everything ranging from tuition, accomodation, food, field visits and other activities related to the curriculum.
International students: INR 1,00,000; CAD 1860; USD 1400
Indian students: INR 75,000
Please note that the fee does not cover travel or insurance costs.
