The Vedica Programme at Agnes Scott College

Course Structure

As first-year international students at Agnes Scott College through the Vedica Programme, Vedica Scotties will have the option to choose a major and minor of their choice as a part of the esteemed BA Liberal Arts programme. In addition to their chosen subject, they will be exposed to a concentration in ‘Contemporary India’ (details below) to enhance their regional expertise and provide them with an understanding of complex global issues to become effective strategic and global leaders.

The shared vision towards empowering professional working women through an innovative and pioneering approach to management education is the distinctive feature of the Vedica-Agnes Scott partnership. By offering a major and minor in Business Management, Agnes Scott is one of the few liberal arts schools in the US that also focuses on professional education. This forms the basis of its partnership with the Vedica Scholars Programme for Women, a reimagined management practice programme for women in India. Vedica Scotties are encouraged to study a major or minor in Business Management, but this is not a requirement.

You can discover your preferred majors and minors at Agnes Scott here.

Contemporary India concentration

To address the alienation from the socio-political context of India that Indian students face while studying in the US, Vedica Scotties will study a curated concentration in ‘Contemporary India’. This concentration will broadly cover Contemporary Politics in India, Indian Economics and Business, and Indian Media, thereby providing Vedica Scotties with an added advantage when they return to work in India and equipping them to be effective and strategic global leaders.
