Shagun hails from the beautiful city of Dehradun. She has graduated with a Bachelor’s in Social Work with a specialisation in Rural Development from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Tuljapur. She has interned with Bombay Mother’s and Children Welfare Society, where she got the experience of working with cancer patients. At TISS, she was also a part of the Skip-a-Meal program from 2017-2019. She has advocated for issues related to women’s hygiene, gender equality and reducing the dropout rates in rural India. Shagun has also executed project Vitamin Stree to reduce the number of anaemic women present in village Manewadi. To understand the issues faced by her state, she has written a dissertation on the topic of Male Outmigration in Uttarakhand and its Impact on Families.
