“As women achieve power, the barriers will fall. As society sees what women can do, as women see what women can do, there will be more women out there doing things, and we'll all be better off for it.”
Vedica empowers urban, educated women who as catalysts of change, will create a more equal social, economic and political reality.
Our mission is to enable women to lead lives of dignity through career-led financial independence.
We are dedicated to questioning everyday practices, thinking deeply of solutions, and utilising the full potential of urban educated women to drive a gender-balanced era of growth. We will inform, influence and implement towards this end.
In 2021, 49% of India’s enrolled PG students were women. However, only:
women in senior management roles
women in leadership roles
women as start-up co-founders
Apart from these worrying numbers, the World Bank estimates that the percentage of working women in India has fallen to 9% in 2022. Higher education programmes may be enabling women to enter the workforce, but they aren't teaching them how to achieve successful, break-free careers.
The Vedica Scholars Programme for Women ensures that young women are coached to make decisions skillfully, which allows them to remain in the workforce and take charge of their lives, contrary to the current worldwide trend.
It prepares young women to recognise and evaluate trade-offs and make appropriate choices to lead an integrated and wholesome life. A Vedica Scholar will find meaningful employment, navigate her workplace, and crack the proverbial ‘glass ceiling’.
As a Programme, we have earned a reputation, larger and better established than our years of existence. We envision and work towards a future in which professional women thrive.
Steadily and consistently scaled up the programme to serve more and more deserving young women – from a batch of ~30 women in 2015 to ~120 women in 2022.
A strong community of ambitious young women working across the country.
We help young women in the country become financially independent by assuring them placements. We have successfully placed all our graduates so far.
Transformed the lives of over 200 deserving women and their families – by offering cumulative financial support of over Rs 5 crore.
Senior women leaders from across the world who mentor our Scholars one-on-one.
Academics & corporate professionals from across the world committed to empower women & become allies to create an equal world
Industry mentors who guide Vedica Scholars on their career & growth.
Organisations across sectors that benefit from hiring bright and ambitious women from Vedica.
Placements with an average salary of Rs. 11+ lakhs P.A., which indicates an average hike of ~200% over previous salaries for those with work experience.
By 2030, we want to transform the lives of over 2,500 Scholars and their families, irrespective of their social and financial constraints, through our world-class management and leadership programme.

Fortunately, she did. She worked in a factory to support herself through school. A philanthropic fund made it possible for her to graduate.
