From the Dean's Desk

Dear Class of 2022

We are excited to welcome you to the Vedica family, and look forward to a meaningful, engaged and transformational 18 months with you, beginning in the not-so-distant future!

As I write to you, we are still in the midst of a pandemic that is testing us relentlessly. We feel sombre and concerned by the events around us, but it is equally important that we don’t become despondent or lose our light-heartedness. "For there is always light. If only we’re brave enough to see it. If only we’re brave enough to be it." – as the young Amanda Gorman said at Joe Biden’s inauguration earlier this year.

The pandemic has also reinforced the importance of resilience – something we have firmly believed in, at Vedica. But increasingly, I believe, we have to become more than resilient, we must become anti-fragile. As Nassim Taleb explains, ‘Antifragility is beyond resilience or robustness. The resilient resists shocks and stays the same; the antifragile gets better. This property is behind everything that has changed with time: evolution, culture, political systems, technological innovation, economic success, corporate survival, good recipes, the rise of cities, legal systems, bacterial resistance … even our own existence as a species on this planet.'

He adds, 'Antifragility has a singular property of allowing us to deal with the unknown, to do things without understanding them— and do them well.’

Having watched scores of young women morph into better versions of themselves, while at Vedica, I wish you embark on becoming ‘anti-fragile’ during your time with us.

Personally, I draw all my inspiration from nature. And it has always been a huge source of comfort to me that the sun rises every morning, and the waves come to shore enduringly - since the beginning of time. And therefore, even as we encounter ups and downs, like in the present circumstances – and we do our best to meet challenges squarely, there is wisdom in keeping a part of ourselves focused on the sunrise that lies ahead of the clouds.

Wishing all of us many sunrises together!
See you all very soon. Till then, stay safe.
Warmly, Anuradha

COVID FAQs

We have made our entire admissions process digital

  • All interviews are now being conducted virtually on Google Meet/Zoom
  • Shortlisted candidates are no longer required to submit any documents physically.
  • On getting selected, you'll now receive the admissions offer online, instead of a courier.

The payments too can be made online

Vedica's Sixth Batch had an online induction in September 2020 followed by a hybrid module starting October. Scholars have been given an option to either come to the hostel and attend classes (in person) on campus or attend classes virtually. Vedica has put together all the digital infrastructure and altered pedagogy style to make virtual learning seamless. Each in-person class is live streamed for virtual attendees.

In March, we had 90 Scholars in the hostel. In April we have about 56 Scholars.

Latest update, 10th April: Due to the rising COVID cases in India, we have decided to move all classes online for the month of April

The Class of 2022 will commence in the first week of August. The confirmed date will be released in the month of June.

With the vaccination drive in full-swing, we are hopeful of starting new batch sessions in the physical form. We are optimistic about delivering the programme in-person.

Having said that, we are closely watching the rising second-wave cases in Delhi and will assess the situation in June before making any final announcements. We will be following all protocols as ordained by the Delhi government and will keep the safety of our students as paramount. We are keen on giving Scholars an option to attend classes virtually if they are not comfortable coming to the hostel and campus.

All necessary safety protocols are being followed on the campus including sanitisation, social distancing norms, hygiene protocols, protective gears.

In addition to that, Vedica provides a health insurance cover to all its Scholars, which covers hospitalisation upto Rs 1 Lakh p.a due to COVID-19.

The campus and hostel are now open for visits. However, visitors need to give the Vedica Team a 72-hour notice before-hand. Visitors will be assisted by a member of the team and will need to strictly follow safety protocols of wearing a mask and maintaining social distancing.

Students and their families can also check our infrastructure through the below virtual tour-
